My dog Jesse has just been diagnosed with Wobblers Syndrome, I have been reading up on it. But, without getting surgery, what is the usual outcome for him. I can't afford surger and right now I've been giving him pills, for the pain and other stuff. He has been doing better since he has been on the medication, but once he's done with them, will it come back even worse than the first time?

I took him to the vet because, all of a sudden, he really bacame lathargic, never wanting to leave my side, had his head hanging low, would not jump on the bed, and genuinly seemed like he was in a lot of pain.

Please let me know if anyone has any experiance with this. Thanks.

This is a very sad and hard thing to go through. Surgery has shown itself to be very effective even though it is very expensive. Untreated the disease makes it impossible for the dog to eat/drink and exercise and they kind of waste away. My advice is borrow the money or find it somehow and get the dog the relief, if that is not possible, you will be faced with other hard options. I am very sorry for what you are going through, I hope things can turn out well. The disease generally progresses worse and worse as it goes, but treatment is most effective when done early.

Dobes are like potato chips, you really can't have just one...

I just read that write up on Wobblers. I never knew it was that bad. I always thought wobblers was when their head shakes upon waking up. Kind of a nervous disorder. My Yogi's head used to shake all the time when he'd wake up, but that went away.

I'd cry myself to sleep every night if Yogi ever came down with something like this.
