Aksel is my 9 week old pup from the Escada litter from Familydobes. He did a very good job at his test for SAR, I am so proud of him. He did very well on his runaways/finds. He has had no training in this area and he pretty much did everything ask of him Sunday. We moved after awhile to a field with grass close to 3 feet high and he did some blind runawys/finds and he did great on them also. We could not even see him at times, all you could see is the grass moving and then hear the runner praise him for a good find. They made the test in the tall grass a bit harder for him cause he was doing so well, and even then he did outstanding, locating the runners with working it out with his nose. I can't tell you how excited I was to see him do this. I had goose bumps just watching him. And to his credit he did not get treats to motivate him, I use a little small green squeeky tennis ball from Petsmart. He goes wild over that little ball. They would run and hide and he would tug for all he was worth to get after them. It was really a site to see that little fella and I can't wait to do some more Sar work with him. I want to thank you at Familydobes for such a outstanding puppy, he is all I wanted and alot more!
